EDUCATION
Texas used to lead the country when it came to public education. We've spent the last two decades falling far, far behind.

WHERE WE STAND
MASSIVE BUDGET DEFICITS JEOPARDIZE EDUCATION FOR ALL TEXANS.
Inflation spiked fixed costs and a massive funding gap was left in our classrooms, forcing Texas public schools to shutter campuses, cut librarians, and layoff teachers. Making matters worse, the state refuses to adequately fund our classrooms, instead diverting scarce public tax dollars into private school vouchers. This state-level funding squeeze leaves local school property taxes skyrocketing to make up the difference, hurting everyday families. Our future can’t wait—let’s vote for a change.
WHAT OUR CANDIDATES SAY

“Funding that keeps pace with reality. School districts shouldn’t have to struggle just to cover basic costs. It's time to raise the basic allotment to previous levels and ensure that future funding keeps up with inflation.”
